Description: In this activity, we explored four different watercolor techniques and learned about a renowned watercolor artist and how he rose to fame. As a class, we were guided step-by-step through a drawing of a simple interior scene, which included walls, a floor, and a table with a flower vase. Once our pencil drawings were complete, we outlined them with black Sharpie to help contain the watercolor and keep the colors clean and defined. We then began painting, using our watercolors to bring the scene to life. Each student was required to incorporate at least three of the watercolor techniques we learned at the start of the lesson.
Extension Activity: Students will use the techniques that they learned from the previous project. The students will create a project with a vase and flowers after they learn about different ones from science class. The students will choose four of their favorite flowers and recreate them in a painting
